Job Description
**Job Title** Account Manager – Food Ingredients (12‑month contract) **Role Summary** Manage and grow an existing portfolio of food ingredient accounts in the Montreal area for a global functional food ingredients supplier. Drive sales of a broad product range to food, beverage, and nutraceutical manufacturers, balancing commercial and technical interactions with product developers, food scientists, and purchasing teams. **Expactations** - Achieve quarterly sales and gross‑profit growth targets. - Maintain high activity volume while delivering professional, self‑motivated service. - Ensure accurate pricing, troubleshooting, and new‑product introductions. - Utilize Salesforce CRM to keep territory and account data current. **Key Responsibilities** - Sell enzymes, acidulants, leavening agents, preservatives, sweeteners, phosphates, hydrocolloids, humectants, and related functional ingredients. - Develop new business opportunities within existing accounts and acquire new accounts. - Conduct technical and commercial presentations to food scientists, product developers, and procurement personnel. - Manage pricing negotiations, resolve customer issues, and support product launches. - Communicate regularly with internal management, suppliers, and customers. - Track sales activities, pipeline, and account information in Salesforce. **Required Skills** - Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written). - Minimum 3 years of sales experience in food ingredients, nutraceutical ingredients, or related food industry sectors. - Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets. - High energy, strong organizational ability, and capacity to handle multiple accounts, products, and pricing structures. - Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills. - Proficiency with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce. **Required Education & Certifications** - College degree; Bachelor’s in Food Science strongly preferred. - Additional certifications in sales or food industry (e.g., Certified Food Scientist) are a plus but not mandatory.
