Job Description
Job Title: National Account Manager (12m FTC) Role Summary: Drive growth and deliver strategic retailer partnerships for a fast‑growing beauty brand. Manage all aspects of national accounts, from relationship building and trade negotiations to forecasting and performance optimisation, ensuring brand visibility and profitability across retailers. Expectations: - Achieve and exceed sales forecasts and profit targets for all assigned retailers. - Build and maintain high‑level relationships with buyers, merchandisers, marketing and trade teams. - Provide strategic commercial insights that translate into measurable growth. - Deliver on the annual retail playbook, ensuring timely implementation of launches, marketing activations and trade support. Key Responsibilities: - Establish and nurture collaborative relationships at all levels (Buying, Merchandising, Marketing) to ensure optimal brand positioning and market share. - Lead commercial negotiations covering terms, pricing, distribution, online real estate and marketing support packages. - Own all retail sales forecasting, budget submissions and risk identification, reporting findings to senior stakeholders. - Develop and execute 360° plans to secure top‑ranking positions in all categories and locations. - Analyse account P&L, balance trade marketing spend against top‑line opportunities, and monitor retailer profit contribution. - React agilely to retail trends, identifying and capitalising on opportunities across retailers. - Collaborate with Trade Marketing, Visual Merchandising, PR and e‑commerce to create and deliver an annual plan for each retailer, covering launches, events, animations, and both acquisition and retention initiatives. - Present commercial rationales and maintain transparency with cross‑functional teams. - Translate field insights into actionable commercial strategies that drive growth. Required Skills: - Extensive experience as a National Account Manager in beauty, luxury or fashion sectors. - Highly numerate, target‑driven and commercially savvy with strong analytical skills. - Proven negotiation expertise and ability to balance risk mitigation with a growth mindset. - Excellent relationship building, written and verbal communication skills. - Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency. - Structured, organised, yet comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments. - Ability to provide macro‑level strategic insights and articulate the ‘why’ behind decisions. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce or a related field (preferred). - Any industry‑specific certifications in account management or sales (advantageous).
