Job title: DevOps Engineer (DevSecOps Specialist)
Role Summary:
Embed security best practices throughout software development and operations, continuously improving the speed, reliability, and quality of geoscience software delivery. Work closely with development and IT teams to secure CI/CD pipelines, cloud and on‑prem environments, and ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and other security standards.
Expectations:
- 2+ years of hands‑on DevOps and cybersecurity experience.
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud security, container security, IaC (Terraform, Bicep), and configuration automation (Ansible).
- Proficient with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Experience in security monitoring, scanning, and vulnerability management.
- Ability to lead and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
- Fluent in English; French/Spanish an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain security controls in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and application deployments.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps).
- Embed security throughout the software lifecycle in partnership with dev and IT teams.
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats in cloud and on‑prem environments.
- Lead cloud architecture modernization to support HPC workloads and meet service level objectives.
- Design resilient, highly‑available system architecture.
- Containerize applications and guide production‑grade deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Train development teams on secure coding, observability, and DevSecOps best practices.
- Lead ISO 27001 implementation and maintenance.
Required Skills:
- Azure cloud security, Docker & Kubernetes container security.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep).
- Configuration automation (Ansible).
- CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Security monitoring, scanning, vulnerability management tools.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and security best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Certifications such as CISSP or CEH are a plus but not mandatory.
