**Job title**
Fire & Security Engineer – Mobile
**Role Summary**
Deliver preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and commissioning of CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, intercom, and fire safety systems for large commercial clients across the area. Ensure all work adheres to UK statutory and British Standards, maintain safety compliance, and support on‑site engineering teams and clients.
**Expectations**
* Minimum 2 years’ experience servicing, maintaining, and installing CCTV, access control, and fire systems.
* Strong multi‑disciplinary background or expertise in one discipline with willingness to cross‑train.
* Proficient with British Standards (BS 5839, BS 9999, etc.), NSI, and LPCB requirements.
* Health & Safety trained and able to perform risk assessments and follow permits‑to‑work procedures.
* Competent in PC and LAN/WAN networking, OS‑level operations and basic troubleshooting.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on CCTV, access control, fire and alarm systems.
2. Perform system upgrades, modifications, and commissioning in line with service contracts.
3. Prepare dilapidation reports, design solutions, and provide accurate quotations per British Standards.
4. Maintain open communication with clients regarding KPIs, SLAs, and service updates.
5. Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and technical policies; complete risk assessments and use PPE.
6. Submit accurate timesheets, mileage, and administrative paperwork on schedule.
7. Liaise with Service Centre and coordinate work to meet deadlines.
8. Address non‑compliance issues, generate quotation builds, and follow up on recommendations.
**Required Skills**
* Preventive maintenance and fault‑diagnosis of CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, intercom, and fire systems.
* Knowledge of British Standards, NSI, LPCB, and UK regulatory requirements.
* Diagnostic skills: elimination techniques, troubleshooting, and technical decision‑making.
* Design, surveying, estimating, and quotation preparation.
* Risk assessment, permits‑to‑work, and safety management.
* PC, LAN/WAN networking proficiency, OS‑level operations, and basic IT troubleshooting.
* Strong communication, client relationship management, and teamwork.
* Time‑management and self‑delivery to meet scheduling targets.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 (Electrical/Fire Safety) or equivalent technical qualification.
* LPCB certification (or equivalent UK fire safety qualification).
* Health & Safety awareness training, including risk assessment and PPE usage.
