Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
**Role Summary**
Define and own the long‑term technical vision that aligns with product growth and market demands. Architect and scale a reliable SaaS platform, manage and grow the technology organization, and ensure delivery excellence while controlling technical debt and meeting regulatory and financial reliability requirements.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a robust, modular, and scalable architecture that supports complex financial and regulatory workflows.
- Reduce technical debt pragmatically while maintaining high quality and observability.
- Build predictable, secure delivery cycles across multi‑client environments.
- Lead and mentor a growing technical team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Represent technical strategy in executive and investor discussions, linking tech choices to growth, cost, and risk.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Technical Vision & Strategy** – set long‑term direction, benchmark architecture choices, balance scalability, modularity, performance, and security.
2. **Architecture & Quality** – ensure platform availability, performance, and security; design development, staging, and production environments; establish standards, testing, monitoring, and observability.
3. **Delivery & Organization** – structure tech roles, responsibilities, rituals; collaborate closely with product (CPO, PM) for streamlined delivery; secure release cycles.
4. **Management & Leadership** – hire, coach, and grow senior engineers, backend, frontend, and infra teams; promote responsibility and iterative improvement.
5. **Cross‑functional Representation** – advise leadership and investors on technology’s impact on growth, cost, and risk; propose strategic technical partnerships.
**Required Skills**
- Proven CTO or senior tech‑lead experience in a rapidly scaling SaaS.
- Deep knowledge of Elixir/Phoenix, PostgreSQL, React/TypeScript, Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), DigitalOcean or equivalent cloud.
- Expertise in observability (OpenTelemetry, SigNoz), testing (E2E with Playwright), and Agile delivery (Linear, Scrum/Kanban).
- Strong architectural judgment for highly‑available, data‑driven systems, especially in finance and regulated domains.
- Excellent people‑management, coaching, and communication skills; ability to align strategy with execution.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, AWS/Azure Cloud Architecture) preferred but not mandatory.
