System Administrator (Secure Communications Platform)
**Role Summary**
Provide comprehensive support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for a mission‑critical secure voice communication system. Act as the central technical liaison, ensuring optimal system performance, security compliance, and efficient resolution of technical issues across voice, network, and server environments.
**Expectations**
- Demonstrate 5–8 years of hands‑on field service or systems maintenance in communications or network operations.
- Maintain a Canadian Secret Level II Security Clearance.
- Deliver proactive, timely technical support and training to end users and internal teams.
- Adhere to cybersecurity and information assurance standards, ensuring network hardening and secure configurations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform system checkout, operation, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and modification of secure communication platform components.
- Execute software patches, OS updates, and new hardware/software installations; manage RMAs and vendor resolution tracking.
- Support and troubleshoot Cisco switches/routers, secure voice systems, VoIP technologies, Windows Server, VLANs, routing protocols, and IP/PBX servers.
- Analyze and recommend improvements to existing VoIP/network architectures.
- Maintain accurate service logs, change requests, trouble tickets, and equipment accountability.
- Assist in worksite setup, policy compliance, and attendance at required meetings and briefings.
- Provide end‑user training and documentation on platform usage and maintenance.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison, communicating system updates, issues, and emerging requirements to broader technical and support teams.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise in secure voice and networking systems.
- Proficiency with Cisco switching/ routing, Windows Server, VLANs, routing protocols, IP/PBX servers, and VoIP technologies.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity compliance frameworks and network hardening practices.
- Effective communication skills for liaising between technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage detailed documentation, ticketing, and change control processes.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
- Canadian Secret Level II Security Clearance.
- Preferred certifications: CCNA/CCNP, MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Security+, or related credentials.
