**Job Title:** Head of DevOps
**Role Summary:**
Strategic leader who drives the design, implementation, and operation of hybrid Azure‑based infrastructure for a global hedge fund. Balances technical hands‑on contribution with management of large, multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, automated, and scalable delivery of trading systems.
**Expectations:**
- Provide technical direction across DevOps, Cloud, and Platform teams.
- Lead and mentor a 20+ member global engineering organization.
- Maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning for mission‑critical systems.
- Partner with vendors and align infrastructure with business continuity requirements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and manage hybrid Azure cloud environments, including networking, storage, and compute.
- Define and enforce DevOps best practices: CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and automation (Terraform, Ansible, Docker, GitHub).
- Oversee Kubernetes orchestration for containerized workloads.
- Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Conduct capacity forecasting and performance tuning.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements.
- Drive continuous improvement, security compliance, and cost optimization.
**Required Skills:**
- 5‑10 years of progressive experience in cloud operations, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services (Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Service, etc.).
- Proficient with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and GitHub.
- Proven ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary, global teams (20+ members).
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and people‑focused leadership style.
- Experience in a trading environment (hedge fund, investment bank, or commodity trading).
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (minimum).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are preferred but not mandatory.
