Job Title: Manager, Business Intelligence
Role Summary
Lead advanced analytics for Ross and dd’s Discounts retail stores, driving data‑driven decisions to improve sales, profitability, and operational efficiency. Generate insights, build dashboards, and advise senior leadership on store‑level strategy, including operating hours and customer insights.
Expectations
- Deliver timely, accurate financial and operational analyses that influence store performance.
- Translate complex data into clear written and verbal recommendations for executive and store leadership.
- Manage projects from conception through execution, coordinating with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Maintain high data integrity across warehousing, reporting, and operational systems.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert on store hours, labor optimization, and customer insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct sales, profitability, and operational metric analyses by store segmentation.
- Identify root causes of performance changes and recommend actionable improvements.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and other reporting tools for executive review.
- Lead cross‑functional review cycles for store operating hour optimization, collaborating with field leadership, payroll, and marketing.
- Analyze labor costs, customer behavior, and sales trends to propose profit‑optimized schedules.
- Create executive‑level decks and present findings to senior leadership and field decision‑makers.
- Ensure consistent data integrity across internal systems and public listings (e.g., store locator, Google).
- Manage end‑to‑end projects, including work plans, stakeholder coordination, and communication of results.
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly customer insight processes, driving actionable intelligence.
Required Skills
- Advanced analytics & statistical analysis.
- SQL, Python/R or equivalent for data extraction and modeling.
- Power BI (primary) and proficiency in Excel; Tableau, SAS or similar tools a plus.
- Predictive analytics and data visualization expertise.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to distill complex insights for non‑technical audiences.
- Business acumen with understanding of retail operations, labor cost structures, and profitability levers.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
- Professional certifications: Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Power BI, Tableau Desktop Specialist, or comparable. (Preferred)
