Job Description
**Job Title:** Test Software Development Intern **Role Summary:** Assist flight software and test engineering teams in developing, implementing, and maintaining automated test software for spacecraft systems. Contribute to test script creation, real‑time monitoring, data pipelines, and internal web tools using Python, JavaScript, and React within a fast‑paced aerospace environment. **Expectations:** - Full‑time on‑site commitment (40 h/week) for a 12‑week period (May‑August 2026). - Deliver high‑quality, documented code and test artifacts. - Communicate findings clearly and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. - Maintain adherence to defined processes and data integrity standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and maintain Python‑based test automation for component and vehicle level spacecraft testing. - Write, update, and debug test scripts validating hardware/software interactions. - Integrate test scripts with flight software and ensure mission‑specific requirements are met. - Implement real‑time monitoring/visualization using Grafana, InfluxDB, or similar tools. - Build and support automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines. - Execute functional test campaigns, analyze results, log anomalies, and produce concise reports. - Create and maintain test data pipelines (e.g., JSON) ensuring structured storage and accessibility. - Develop frontend interfaces and internal web applications with JavaScript, React, and build tools (Vite/Webpack). - Contribute backend services/APIs for test infrastructure and data management. - Document procedures, results, and present work to engineering and leadership teams. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Python scripting and automation. - Experience with JavaScript and React (or comparable modern frontend framework). - Familiarity with frontend build tools (Vite, Webpack, etc.). - Understanding of structured data formats (JSON). - Version control using Git. - Strong attention to detail, documentation, and communication abilities. - Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams. - Interest in spacecraft systems, flight software, and test automation. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field) at an accredited four‑year university. - Expected graduation date after internship period. - No formal certifications required; coursework or project experience in software testing, TDD, or unit testing is advantageous.
