Job Description
**Job Title:** Graphics Prepress Specialist **Role Summary:** Prepare, process, and quality‑check customer artwork for lithography, flexography, gravure, and digital label printing. Ensure files meet printer specifications, maintain rapid turnaround, and support production without performing graphic design work. **Expactations:** - Deliver accurate prepress files that meet technical specs and quality standards. - Manage multiple jobs simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. - Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams regarding requirements and issues. - Maintain equipment, documentation, and safety compliance. - Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and adopt new technologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform electronic separations (traps, overprints, pullbacks, line requirements) per internal tickets. - Generate electronic and hard‑color proofs; convert approved proofs to final stepped files for plate output. - Conduct final file inspections and complete QA checklists. - Interact with customers and teammates to clarify specifications and special requirements. - Operate Macintosh workstations using ERP, graphics systems, and production software. - Handle file transfers, documentation, and routine equipment maintenance. - Support research and development of new prepress technologies. - Participate in Kaizen/continuous‑improvement teams and attend departmental meetings/training. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). - Strong knowledge of prepress/preflight software; experience with Hybrid, Esko, GMG, or HP Indigo a plus. - Advanced computer skills: MS Office, internet applications, ERP/graphics systems. - Solid understanding of color theory, color separation, and visual perception. - Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to deliver high‑quality work under pressure. - Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to translate technical information. - Quick learner of new software/hardware; problem‑solving with minimal supervision. - Flexibility for overtime and occasional travel. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Associate degree in Graphics Reproduction, Print Technology, or related field **or** minimum 2 years equivalent combined education and experience in graphics prepress, customer service, or similar roles.
