**Job Title**
Director of Editorial – Parental Leave Cover (Temporary Full‑Time)
**Role Summary**
Lead all editorial and storytelling functions for the brand’s 360‑touchpoint ecosystem. Develop and enforce brand voice, ensure consistency across paid media, digital, retail, packaging, and customer service, and manage a high‑performing editorial team. Partner closely with CCO, Creative, Marketing, Product Development, and external agencies to deliver strategic, innovative, and inclusive brand narratives.

- Maintain brand voice and tone across all channels and materials.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the editorial team during the temporary March‑October tenure.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to deliver cohesive, on‑brand campaigns and content.
- Deliver high‑quality editorial output on schedule, meeting SEO and consumer engagement targets.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Partner with CCO to set and uphold brand voice guidelines and editorial standards across all 360 touchpoints.
- Develop and implement the editorial strategy for paid media, dto.com content, blog, packaging copy, in‑store messaging, video scripts, and customer service responses.
- Collaborate with Creative Leadership, Marketing, Visual Creative, Product Development, and Visual Merchandising to translate concepts into compelling editorial content.
- Build and maintain relationships with cross‑functional teams (Brand Marketing, Product Development, Community Engagement, Social, Retail, EDU, CX, International) to align editorial goals.
- Liaise with external agencies, talent agencies, freelance writers, and paid media partners to support brand storytelling initiatives.
- Lead the editorial team: review workflows, provide constructive feedback, conduct performance reviews, and ensure everyone follows brand guidelines.
- Mentor brand copywriters, educate on tone, strategy, best practices, and beauty industry trends.
- Represent the editorial function in presentations, meetings, and cross‑team briefings.
- Review and approve key editorial strategies, content plans, and storytelling initiatives for brand consistency and business impact.
**Required Skills**
- 7–10+ years of professional writing and editing experience.
- Deep knowledge of editorial best practices, brand storytelling, and style guide development.
- SEO expertise and understanding of digital content optimization.
- Strong strategic thinking; ability to translate business objectives into creative content solutions.
- Proven leadership and team‑management skills, including coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluation.
- Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and communication.
- Ability to adapt voice across diverse media (paid, organic, in‑store, packaging, video).
- Inclusive mindset and strong listening skills.
- Proficiency in presenting complex ideas clearly to varied audiences.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) preferred.
- No mandatory certifications required; relevant experience in branding and editorial preferred.
