Job Description
**Job Title:** Personnel Security Specialist **Role Summary:** Provide administrative and customer‑service support for personnel security processes across the United States, ensuring compliance with U.S. government policies, managing clearance databases, and facilitating access and visit requests. **Expectations:** Deliver accurate, timely updates to security databases; maintain confidentiality; communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders; adhere strictly to DoD security policies and procedures. **Key Responsibilities:** - Initiate and manage personnel clearance background investigations, visit access requests (VARs), and SEAD‑3 reporting via DISS. - Offer guidance on 13 adjudicative guidelines for clearance management. - Handle in‑person and virtual requests through Security Services Help Request, SIMS, security forms, and visit request systems. - Process visitor requests, enter clearance data into visitor databases, and research DISS/SIMS information. - Coordinate classified meetings requiring VARs and act as liaison between Security Services and meeting hosts. - Manage SCI billet program: prepare nomination packages, coordinate with COR/SSO, submit VARs, and schedule indoctrination/debriefings. - Prepare SAP Program Access Requests (PARs), review pre‑screening questionnaires, and coordinate with Contractor Program Security Officers on PAR/PSQ and SAP VARs. - Maintain and update the SIMS security database, ensuring accuracy of clearance, access, visit, and adverse information. - Enforce company security policies and procedures; provide additional assistance as needed. **Required Skills:** - Excellent organization, tracking, and attention to detail. - Strong oral and written communication skills at all employee levels. - Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). - Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment. - Experience conducting security briefings and debriefings. - Familiarity with DoD 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM, and DoD Manual 5105.21 Volumes 1 & 3. - Knowledge of DoD clearance processes: DISS, NBIS, eAPP, SF‑86, and SIMS. **Required Education & Certifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum of two years of related administrative and customer‑service experience. ---
