Job title: DevOps Engineer (hybrid)
Role Summary: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using IaC tools (CDK, Terraform). Collaborate with software, data, and analytics teams to automate deployments, optimize performance, and ensure secure, reliable cloud operations. Monitor, troubleshoot, and migrate legacy workloads while enforcing engineering standards and best practices.
Expactations: 3‑5 years of AWS architecture, administration, and security experience. Proficiency with IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration. Intermediate Python skills and familiarity with observability platforms. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities. Preferred: AWS Associate/Professional certifications, Kubernetes tooling, observability and database knowledge, and familiarity with NIST/CMMC standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer and optimize AWS infrastructure, collaborating with senior team members.
2. Author, deploy, and maintain infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).
3. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline/Build, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
4. Provide AWS support and guidance to engineering, science, and analytics teams.
5. Drive platform automation, monitoring, and observability (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana).
6. Assist in migration of legacy systems to modern cloud architectures.
7. Contribute to engineering standards and best‑practice documentation.
8. Engage with customers and vendors to facilitate data exchange and solutions.
9. Continuously learn and apply emerging AWS services and technologies.
Required Skills:
- AWS solutions architecture, administration, security best practices.
- IaC expertise (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).
- CI/CD pipeline design (CodePipeline/CodeBuild, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
- Python programming (OO principles).
- Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
- AWS managed services for networking, monitoring, security.
- Troubleshooting, automation, and performance tuning.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
Required Education & Certifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- AWS Associate certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer) preferred.
