**Job Title**: Senior Mortgage Lender **Role Summary**: Originate first mortgage and home equity loans, promote lending services to real estate referral partners, and support community financial needs. Maintain compliance with bank policies, regulations, and government guidelines. **Expectations**: - Travel to solicit loans through referral partners (real estate agents, builders, attorneys) and community activities. - Meet with clients in-person at diverse locations. - Ensure compliance with lending regulations and bank policies. - Adapt to remote work arrangements for client acquisition. **Key Responsibilities**: 1. Originate first mortgage and home equity loans by completing loan applications and securing necessary documentation. 2. Educate clients on underwriting guidelines, government regulations, and available loan options. 3. Screen loan requests per bank policies and institution-specific product offerings. 4. Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on policy updates for residential lending compliance. 5. Manage client communications for loan approvals/denials and distribute market data, rate flyers, and credit program information. 6. Collaborate with real estate professionals and participate in bank-sponsored credit/community programs. 7. Attend meetings, trainings, and site visits as required. **Required Skills**: - 5+ years mortgage lending experience in financial institutions or loan offices. - Strong knowledge of banking practices, compliance requirements, and fair lending laws. - Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel, data entry, and spreadsheet formulas; adaptability to specialized lending software. - Analytical and organizational capabilities with attention to detail. - Effective oral/written communication and multitasking under varied deadlines. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and focus in distracting environments. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field, or 3 years equivalent work experience. - No specific certifications required (note: confirm jurisdictional or organization-specific licensing if applicable).
