Job title: Staff DevOps Engineer
Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of highly available, scalable, and secure cloud‑native infrastructure on AWS using IaC (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and automation. Drive cross‑functional DevOps initiatives, enforce best practices, and mentor teams while ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
Expectations: Deliver enterprise‑scale architectures, set and maintain DevOps standards, provide on‑call support, lead migrations/upgrades, and integrate AI tools to enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement resilient, high‑performance AWS solutions with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Define and enforce CI/CD, IaC, and automation best practices.
- Design and implement advanced security measures: identity & access management, encryption, vulnerability assessments.
- Conduct performance analysis, tuning, and optimization of complex systems.
- Lead major infrastructure migrations and upgrades.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and operational standards.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and provide rapid incident response.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to guide DevOps initiatives.
- Leverage AI‑assisted tooling (GitHub Copilot, JetBrains AI Assistant) to improve development workflows.
Required Skills:
- AWS architecture & services (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.).
- Terraform or equivalent IaC tools.
- Advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Monitoring & observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
- Scripting: Python, Bash, or Ruby.
- Version control (Git) and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
- Containerization & orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Networking fundamentals and security best practices.
- Proficiency with AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of DevOps or cloud engineering experience.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional).
- Knowledge of AWS Security Architecture (preferred).
