**Job Title:** Senior Data Architect
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise‑wide data architectures and solutions that support digital services for a large public sector organization. Ensure data platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives while guiding cross‑functional technical teams.
**Expectations:**
- Define and enforce data architecture standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data models.
- Drive adoption of modern data technologies and cloud‑based solutions.
- Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Deliver architecture artifacts and documentation that meet governance and compliance requirements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design end‑to‑end data architecture (conceptual, logical, physical) for data lakes, warehouses, and streaming pipelines.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate data storage, processing, and integration tools (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Kafka, Spark).
- Establish data modeling, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Define data security, privacy, and access control policies in line with regulatory standards.
- Provide technical leadership during solution design, development, and deployment phases.
- Conduct architecture reviews, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Produce and maintain architecture roadmaps, standards, and reference architectures.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep expertise in data modeling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services.
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools, data integration, and real‑time streaming technologies.
- Knowledge of big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark) and data lake architectures.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security (encryption, masking), and compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate effectively with non‑technical stakeholders.
- Leadership and mentorship capabilities; experience guiding multi‑disciplinary teams.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Professional Data Engineer, CDMP) strongly desirable.
