**Job Title** DevOps Engineer (Automation & Observability) **Role Summary** Design, implement, and maintain automation and observability solutions to enhance the resilience and performance of a data protection platform. Work closely with operations and stakeholders to define requirements, build CI/CD pipelines, and deliver scalable monitoring, alerting, and root‑cause analysis capabilities. **Expectations** - Interpret and shape loosely defined requirements into concrete, actionable solutions. - Deliver robust automation and observability tooling that meets the firm’s data protection strategy. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand operational challenges and communicate technical solutions clearly. - Maintain and evolve legacy environments while applying modern practices. **Key Responsibilities** - Architect and deploy automation workflows using Ansible, Python (and optionally Perl/PowerShell). - Design and configure monitoring and alerting stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Cortex) to reduce recovery times. - Build, test, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Git and Jenkins. - Create and consume RESTful APIs for integration with data protection systems. - Conduct root‑cause analysis, troubleshoot performance and reliability issues, and implement corrective actions. - Produce documentation of processes, configurations, and incident post‑mortems. - Engage stakeholders to refine requirements, provide status updates, and deliver training where needed. **Required Skills** - Python development (proficiency required). - Experience with Git and CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins). - Hands‑on expertise with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Cortex. - Advanced Ansible automation skills. - Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs. - Excellent troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis abilities. - Ability to navigate unclear or evolving requirements. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - (Optional) Perl and/or PowerShell scripting. - (Optional) Familiarity with backup or storage technologies. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator are a plus.
