**Job Title**
Systems Operations Engineer 4 – Network Storage Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, architect, and maintain enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage). Lead availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization initiatives across on‑prem and cloud environments. Automate provisioning, monitor storage health, and enforce security compliance (SOX, PCI, HIPAA).
**Expectations**
* Deliver high‑availability and disaster recovery architecture within project timelines.
* Ensure storage performance, capacity planning, and reliability meet business SLAs.
* Maintain accurate documentation and audit readiness for security and compliance.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect, implement, and manage SAN/NAS/object storage platforms (NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage).
- Design and execute high‑availability and DR solutions spanning on‑prem and cloud.
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization.
- Lead root‑cause analysis for storage incidents and implement long‑term fixes.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
- Manage backup/recovery strategies with NetBackup, Veeam, or Commvault.
- Monitor storage health via SolarWinds, Splunk, Prometheus, or vendor dashboards.
- Collaborate with compute, network, and application teams for integrated solutions.
- Maintain detailed configuration, procedure, and DR documentation.
**Required Skills**
- 7+ years of engineering experience; 5+ years in systems engineering or technology architecture.
- Deep expertise in enterprise storage technologies (NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage).
- Proficient with SAN/NAS protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB) and fabric management.
- Strong scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
- Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, Prometheus).
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and incident‑management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred: NetApp Certified Data Administrator, Dell EMC Certified Specialist, or equivalent storage‑platform credentials.
