Our services are at the heart of every single family and community in our region. We clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out. We’re the largest water and water recycling company in England and Wales by geographic area. We’re also one of the driest regions in the country, with just 600 millimetres of rain each year, on average a third less than the rest of England. In fact some areas have a lower annual rainfall than Jerusalem. That’s why it’s vital that we look after the water that we’ve got.

Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer Role Summary: Develop modern, cloud‑native solutions using C#/.NET and Azure services. Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, supporting AI initiatives and ensuring clean, maintainable code. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality, independent solutions; collaborate closely with teammates; uphold coding standards and best practices; continuously learn and adopt new technologies. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and test .NET applications and APIs. • Interact with SQL or other relational databases for data persistence. • Build and maintain Azure‑based services (Functions, Web Apps, Entra). • Create and manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps. • Develop frontend components with Angular or React and TypeScript. • Apply Infrastructure as Code (Bicep), manage containers, and handle message queuing. • Conduct code reviews, enforce quality standards, and manage version control with Git. • Work with spatial data and explore AI technologies where applicable. Required Skills: • Strong C# and .NET proficiency. • Solid SQL/database experience. • Frontend skills in Angular/React with TypeScript. • Azure services (Functions, Web Apps, Entra), CI/CD, IaC (Bicep), containers, message queues. • Experience with Git and Azure DevOps. • Exposure to spatial data handling and AI concepts. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Microsoft Azure/.NET certifications preferred.
