Job Title: Senior Software Development Engineer in Test
Job Description: Job title: Senior Software Development Engineer in Test Role Summary Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated testing frameworks for backend services and user interfaces. Own test strategy, drive quality across product areas, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure robust, testable software. Expectations - Deliver end‑to‑end test automation solutions that achieve high coverage and provide rapid feedback in CI/CD pipelines. - Mentor and coach peers and junior staff on testing best practices and quality mindsets. - Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend APIs and web UIs. - Define and execute test strategy for features or product areas, ensuring alignment with product goals. - Collaborate with engineering and product teams to influence feature design, advocate testability, and set quality standards. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) to provide high‑confidence, rapid feedback. - Perform exploratory testing to uncover usability issues, edge cases, and regressions beyond automation coverage. - Mentor junior engineers and peers in quality mindset and test automation best practices. - Work across multiple, parallel projects in a startup setting with shifting priorities. Required Skills - 5+ years of QA or Software Testing experience; at least 1 year in a senior role. - Strong programming skills in Go or Python (used for automation and tooling). - Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and distributed systems; familiarity with AWS/GCP/Azure a plus. - Deep understanding of CI/CD systems and experience integrating automated test suites into GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent. - Excellent analytical, debugging, and diagnostic skills for backend or infrastructure issues. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities; capable of advocating quality across teams. - Initiative, ownership mindset, and ability to self‑direct under ambiguous, high‑pressure startup conditions. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Cloud Practitioner) are a plus but not mandatory.
