Senior Software Engineer – E‑Commerce & Business Systems Integrations
**Role Summary**
Lead backend and integration architecture for a customer‑facing e‑commerce platform, subscription and billing flows, and data exchange with NetSuite and other third‑party services. Own end‑to‑end reliability, scalability, and security of transactional and financial processes.
**Expectations**
- Deliver robust, scalable backend services and APIs that support high‑volume e‑commerce, subscription, and fulfillment workflows.
- Ensure seamless, data‑accurate integrations with Stripe, payment gateways, identity providers, CDPs, logistics tools, and ERP (NetSuite).
- Provide architectural guidance, best‑practice standards, and long‑term evolution strategy across engineering, product, finance, and operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design, build, and maintain backend services for e‑commerce websites, customer identity, subscription management, and order fulfillment.
2. Lead integration projects with Stripe, payment gateways, CDPs, fulfillment/logistics tools, and NetSuite; create middleware, APIs, and data‑translation layers.
3. Define synchronization, reconciliation, and data‑consistency strategies to eliminate mismatches.
4. Implement observability, telemetry, and monitoring for all integrations and backend services.
5. Diagnose complex issues in refunds, billing reconciliation, and identity mismatches; produce fault‑tolerant, well‑documented recovery processes.
6. Advise on reliability, scalability, and security best practices; collaborate cross‑functionally to align with product, finance, and operations.
**Required Skills**
- 5–10+ years as a backend or full‑stack software engineer.
- Expertise in API design, microservices, REST, and cloud‑native development.
- Proven experience building e‑commerce backends, subscription flows, or transactional systems.
- Hands‑on integration with third‑party platforms (Stripe, Auth systems, fulfillment tools, billing platforms).
- Strong understanding of financial and subscription workflows.
- Experience integrating with NetSuite or comparable ERP/business systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Node.js, Go, or equivalent backend stacks.
**Preferred Skills**
- Experience with high‑volume transactional systems and large‑scale scaling.
- Familiarity with data synchronization challenges between operational systems and ERPs.
- Background in hardware+software or IoT product environments.
- Knowledge of recurring billing, subscription commerce, and refund logic.
- Working knowledge of AWS or similar cloud infrastructure.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- No mandatory certifications, but relevant industry or platform certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, NetSuite Certification) are a plus.
