**Job Title:** Senior Mainframe Developer
**Role Summary:**
Lead design, development, and performance optimization of investment and retirement platform applications on z/OS. Requires deep COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, IMS, and REXX expertise, plus technical leadership and mentorship within Agile environments.
**Expectations:**
- 5–8 years mainframe development experience, 1–2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Proven ability to support production environments, troubleshoot complex incidents, and tune batch processing.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and cross‑functional collaboration.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect, design, and implement scalable mainframe solutions that meet enterprise standards.
- Conduct code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and enforce coding best practices.
- Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, IMS, VSAM, and REXX.
- Monitor system performance, optimize batch jobs, manage scheduling, and resolve high‑priority incidents.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder engagement to clarify requirements.
- Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing across the team.
**Required Skills:**
- Expertise in z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, IMS, VSAM, and REXX.
- Strong debugging and analysis use of tools such as Xpediter and File‑Aid.
- Deep understanding of batch processing and system performance tuning.
- Experience with Agile development processes.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Professional certifications in COBOL, DB2, CICS, or z/OS are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of financial services regulatory requirements and modern mainframe DevOps practices is a plus.
