Job Description
**Job Title:** Application Support Engineer **Role Summary:** Deliver expert technical support for bespoke software platforms, acting as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams. Resolve complex incidents, produce documentation, and drive continuous improvement in application performance and customer satisfaction. **Expectations:** - Cover 8:00 am–8:00 pm shifts, Monday‑Sunday, including bank holidays. - Rapidly acquire deep product knowledge and maintain it. - Operate independently and collaboratively within a small support team. - Consistently meet and exceed customer satisfaction targets. **Key Responsibilities:** - Resolve and document incidents, performing root‑cause analysis and permanent fixes. - Produce advanced guides and internal documentation for clients and support staff. - Monitor application health, proactively respond to alerts and client queries. - Liaise with clients to gather requirements, provide expert guidance, and ensure high satisfaction. - Mentor junior engineers and support their day‑to‑day tasks. - Collaborate with development and support teams on process improvements and knowledge sharing. - Maintain clear log entries and detailed support documentation. **Required Skills:** - ≥2 years technical support or software application experience. - Strong troubleshooting methodology, analytical mindset. - Proficiency with Windows environments and bespoke software ecosystems. - Working knowledge of SQL, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash), and monitoring tools. - Experience with API tools such as Swagger for integration support. - Excellent verbal and written communication; able to manage complex customer interactions. - Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team. - Passion for technology and continuous professional development. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience. - Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are advantageous but not mandatory. ---
