Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineer (DevOps) Role Summary: Lead the setup, maintenance, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and container orchestration to support application delivery for secure government systems. Expectations: - Deliver and troubleshoot production-grade infrastructure on Linux servers and Kubernetes clusters. - Enforce DoD security standards (STIG/RMF) and maintain system accreditation. - Collaborate with development teams using JIRA and other agile tools. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, update, and monitor CI, CM, and SCA tools. - Manage hardware/software issues for application servers, ensuring high availability. - Create and maintain virtual machine clusters and Kubernetes nodes using Rancher RKE2. - Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash, C++/Java) for OS hardening and deployment. - Document installation, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures. - Support build and release processes with GitLab, Jenkins, Docker. - Apply networking best practices on Cisco equipment and manage access controls. Required Skills: - 2–6 years of DevOps experience in a government or regulated environment. - Proficiency with Kubernetes, Rancher/rancher Mult‑Cluster Manager, and RHEL. - Scripting/automation: Python, Bash, C++/Java. - CI/CD tools: GitLab, Jenkins, Docker. - Knowledge of DoD security practices, STIG compliance, and system accreditation. - Experience with networking (Cisco switches/routers). Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field. - U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain an active DoD security clearance. - Experience configuring, integrating, and maintaining server software/hardware environments.
