Job Title: Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer (GCP Focus)
Role Summary: Lead design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure, and cost-effective GCP infrastructure and DevOps pipelines. Mentor infrastructure team, drive adoption of modern CI/CD, automation, security, and observability practices to enable rapid, reliable software delivery.
Expactations: Deliver high‑availability, highly‑available GCP services. Expand team GCP expertise and DevOps culture. Meet cost‑optimization targets and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement end‑to‑end GCP DevOps solutions across Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL/Spanner.
- Build and maintain IaC pipelines with Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Design, secure, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Spinnaker/ArgoCD, GitHub Actions.
- Optimize Kubernetes clusters (GKE) for performance, autoscaling, networking, and service mesh (Istio/Anthos).
- Embed security into DevOps workflows: IAM, VPC Service Controls, KMS, Vulnerability Command Center, secret management.
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and profiling via Cloud Operations Suite; integrate Prometheus, Grafana.
- Execute cost‑management: resource rightsizing, committed use discounts, Pricing API, Billing alerts.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and governance.
- Mentor and coach team members; champion continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years of DevOps/cloud experience with deep GCP focus.
- Proficiency in Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL/Spanner.
- Expertise in IaC (Terraform/Deployment Manager) and GitOps.
- Experience with Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker, ArgoCD.
- Strong scripting: Python, Shell.
- Containerization and Kubernetes (Docker, GKE, Istio/Anthos).
- Cloud security fundamentals: IAM, VPC, KMS, encryption, compliance frameworks.
- Monitoring/observability: Cloud Operations Suite, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Version control: Git, branching strategies.
- Leadership, communication, mentoring abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- GCP Professional certifications (Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Data Engineer) preferred.
