Job Description
Job Title: Business Development Manager – Mainland UK Role Summary: Lead growth strategy in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical sectors across Mainland UK, building client relationships, securing new contracts and expanding opportunities into Renewables. Operate primarily from a home base with regular travel to key sites and industry events. Expectations: Deliver on commercial targets (sales, margin, tenders), maintain compliance with safety, quality and procedural standards, and provide accurate, timely reporting on pipeline activity and performance metrics. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute a regional business development plan aligned with corporate objectives. - Build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective customers to strengthen loyalty and reputation. - Identify, negotiate and close new business opportunities, ensuring financial and commercial objectives are met. - Design and implement market strategies for revenue growth and diversification, including renewable energy prospects. - Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Support to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction. - Collect and analyze market intelligence to inform strategic positioning and competitive advantage. - Pursue new customers, partnerships and acquisition opportunities to broaden market footprint. - Produce high‑level reports on sales performance, pipeline progress and strategic initiatives. - Represent the company at industry events, conferences and networking forums. - Promote company core values in all business activities. Required Skills: - Proven experience in business development, sales or key account management within Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries. - Strong understanding of refining, power generation, pipeline, or construction/fabrication environments. - Analytical ability to interpret data and develop actionable business plans. - Excellent sales promotion, negotiation and presentation skills. - Strategic thinker with strong organisational and results‑focused mindset. - Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems preferred. - Knowledge of renewable energy markets is advantageous. Required Education & Certifications: - Relevant tertiary education (e.g., Business, Engineering or related discipline) and industry certifications preferred but not explicitly mandated.
