Job Description

Job title: Junior Software Developer (AI-Enabled Development) Role Summary: Emerging software engineer responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining web applications within a PHP/Laravel stack, while integrating AI-powered coding assistants to improve productivity and code quality. Works collaboratively with senior developers under an Agile framework. Expactations: • Deliver clean, documented code that meets functional and performance requirements. • Actively engage in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration pipelines. • Leverage AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) to assist coding tasks and maintain coding standards. • Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance. • Participate in documentation and knowledge sharing across the engineering team. Key Responsibilities: • Build and extend application features in PHP and Laravel. • Maintain and improve existing codebase, ensuring adherence to best practices. • Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development while maintaining code quality. • Debug, test, and resolve application defects. • Contribute to backlog grooming, sprint retrospectives, and release planning. • Maintain clear and concise documentation for code, APIs, and development procedures. Required Skills: • 1–3 years of professional or academic software development experience. • Proficient in PHP and Laravel framework. • Working knowledge of MariaDB or relational database concepts. • Familiarity with Git version control and branching workflows. • Experience or strong interest in AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code). • Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern web development practices. • Ability to write clear documentation and unit tests. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
