**Job Title:** Contract Business Analyst – Performance & Attribution Modeling **Role Summary:** Provide business analysis for an investment management client, focusing on performance, attribution, and portfolio analytics services. Define and document detailed functional specifications for attribution models, support implementation (buy‑or‑build), and ensure alignment with desk strategies and overall investment operation objectives. **Expectations:** - Maintain deep understanding of performance, attribution, and portfolio analytics requirements. - Deliver clear, Agile‑aligned artefacts (use cases, activity diagrams, user stories). - Secure agreement on business requirements with stakeholders. - Translate requirements into functional specifications and present them to architects/developers. - Prepare project business cases, briefs, and cost estimates linking projects to strategy. - Track and analyze defects/changes in a defect‑tracking system (e.g., Jira). - Contribute to continual improvement of the project lifecycle methodology. - Support testing by converting requirements into test conditions and assist UAT execution. - Identify technology opportunities that enhance the investment operation’s strategy. **Key Responsibilities:** - Produce detailed functional specifications for attribution models. - Conduct requirements workshops and create Agile artefacts (user stories, use cases, activity diagrams). - Liaise with architects and development teams to design technical solutions and estimate effort. - Develop and maintain project business cases and briefs. - Monitor defect logs, manage change requests, and ensure proper documentation. - Participate in the evolution of project methodologies and best practices. - Collaborate with the Data Management Office to align analytics solutions with broader application strategy. - Verify that test conditions reflect business requirements; support UAT activities. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience defining requirements for performance/attribution projects in portfolio analytics. - Strong knowledge of investment performance measurement, attribution methodology, and portfolio analytics. - Proficiency in Agile documentation (use cases, activity diagrams, user stories). - Ability to produce functional specifications and communicate them to technical teams. - Experience with business case development and cost estimation. - Familiarity with defect/issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira). - Testing support skills, including creation of test conditions and UAT facilitation. - Analytical mindset with proactive identification of technology enhancements. - Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Preferred: Business Analysis certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI‑PBA) or relevant Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master).
