**Job Title**
DevOps Consultant – Cloud and Platform Advisory
**Role Summary**
Provide strategic and technical guidance to large organisations and government clients, transforming their cloud and platform engineering capabilities through DevOps, platform‑as‑a‑product, and emerging technology solutions. Deliver end‑to‑end consulting from strategy to implementation while driving measurable business outcomes.
**Expactations**
- Deliver client‑centric advisory work that improves engineering performance and efficiency.
- Lead and participate in capability assessments, road‑mapping, and operational model design.
- Influence senior stakeholders, mentor teams, and maintain expertise in cloud, DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, observability, and AI/ML.
- Pursue and maintain relevant industry certifications and contribute to thought leadership.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assess and design end‑to‑end DevOps and platform engineering capabilities for enterprise and government customers.
- Develop and present maturity roadmaps, operating models, and product strategies, emphasizing platform‑as‑a‑product and user‑centric design.
- Define and drive OKRs, KPIs and processes to improve engineering delivery performance.
- Maximise utilisation of existing toolsets (ITSM, automation, observability) and recommend new solutions (internal developer portals, orchestration, generative AI).
- Lead cross‑functional workstreams (product, engineering, operations, security) and mentor junior consultants.
- Deliver presentations, workshops and training to clients and internal teams.
**Required Skills**
- Deep knowledge of DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, DevSecOps and cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP, hybrid).
- Experience in agile transformation, consulting and client‑facing delivery.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to model and optimise operating models, processes, and automation.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, ITSM and emerging AI/ML concepts.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional certifications in cloud (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) and recognised DevOps or SRE (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, CA SRE).
- Ability to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance; eligibility for Developed Vetting (DV) where required.
