Job Description
Job title: Finance Assistant Role Summary: Supports finance operations and financial planning & analysis for a global music company, handling monthly reporting, reconciliations, forecast/plan processes, and royalty processing while using systems such as SAP, Hyperion, Excel, and PowerPoint. Expectations: Develop a strong foundation in music‑industry finance, build cross‑functional relationships, manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, maintain accuracy and compliance, and demonstrate proactive problem‑solving and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in preparation of monthly management presentations and key analytical reports. - Extract data from finance systems to support ongoing and ad‑hoc analysis. - Support quarterly forecast and annual plan activities, including report generation and reconciliation, collaborating with global finance teams. - Monitor KPIs, compare performance against forecast and plan, and review deal‑level P&Ls. - Participate in monthly reporting, reconciliations, control and assurance reports, and global deliverables. - Process monthly royalties for selected operating entities. - Use SAP and Hyperion for month‑end processes and validation. - Provide off‑cycle support (e.g., new supplier set‑up, system queries). - Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all reporting activities. Required Skills: - Genuine interest in music industry and finance career. - Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication. - Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, SUMIF, etc.) and PowerPoint proficiency. - Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment. - Ability to manage workload independently and meet tight deadlines. - Familiarity with financial reporting systems (SAP, Hyperion) preferred. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (minimum 2:1). - Finance‑related internship or practical experience is a bonus.
