Job title: Intern – Europe, Russia, and Eurasia Program (Spring 2026) Role Summary: Provide research, analysis, and writing support for CSIS’s Russia Strategic Initiative project, focusing on defense industry capacity, production factors, and internal/external influences on Russian defense firms. Expectations: — 20 hrs per week (part‑time) — February 2 – May 29 2026 — Hybrid (virtual & in‑person) — Deliver timely, accurate research outputs and meet project deadlines Key Responsibilities: • Conduct literature reviews, data collection, and cleaning of Russian‑language sources. • Scrape, process, and analyze data using tools such as R or Python. • Monitor Russian‑language papers, press releases, and other relevant media. • Draft, edit, and proofread research notes, memos, and publications. • Perform ad‑hoc tasks and support staff as needed. Required Skills: • Advanced proficiency in Russian (reading, writing, research). • Experience with data scraping/analysis tools (R Studio, Python, etc.). • Strong research, writing, editing, and communication abilities. • Excellent time‑management and organizational skills. **Job title:** Intern – Economic Security and Technology Department (Spring 2026) **Role Summary:** Support data‑driven research and policy analysis within the Economic Security and Technology (EST) Department.
