Job Description
**Job Title:** Director of Security **Role Summary:** Lead and coordinate all security operations for a luxury hotel, ensuring a safe environment for guests, staff, and property. Manage security staff, technology systems, emergency preparedness, investigations, and policy development while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and hotel standards. **Expectations:** - Maintain a proactive security posture with continuous risk assessment. - Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, state regulations, and internal policies. - Foster a culture of safety and professional conduct across all departments. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Review daily activity reports, identify trends, and address hazardous discrepancies. 2. Promote safety, conduct training, and enforce OSHA and corporate standards. 3. Manage emergency preparedness: drills, life‑safety equipment checks, plan updates. 4. Oversee security technology: video surveillance, access control, key management, reporting platforms. 5. Serve as liaison with law enforcement and external agencies. 6. Conduct criminal/civil investigations, pursue restitution, supervise internal investigations. 7. Represent the security department in internal/external meetings. 8. Write, update, and enforce security policies and SOPs. 9. Train, coach, and mentor supervisors and managers; monitor progress. **Required Skills:** - Leadership & team management - Risk assessment & crisis management - Investigative techniques & incident reporting - Knowledge of state and municipal laws, hotel operations, and luxury hospitality standards - Strong communication, training, and policy development abilities - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and security platforms **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) - CPR certification (within 30 days of hire) - State‑issued Private Security Officer Level II License (within 30 days of hire) - CLSO designation (within 6 months of hire) - Prior experience as a law‑enforcement officer and/or hotel security manager/director - Ability to work flexible, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
