Sr. Manager, DevOps and Infrastructure
Role Summary
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the internal infrastructure platform that powers a factory‑automation software ecosystem. Own strategy, team, and processes to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient systems while enhancing developer productivity across production, testing, and development environments.
Expectations
- Execute a long‑term infrastructure roadmap and drive operational excellence.
- Build and grow a high‑performance DevOps team.
- Deliver measurable DevOps KPIs and incident‑response performance.
- Align with IT, security, and product teams to meet hardware, backup, and uptime requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement infrastructure, deployment, and CI/CD strategy.
- Design and maintain scalable, observable, and automated environments (dev, test, prod).
- Develop internal tooling, abstractions, and self‑service portals to reduce engineering friction.
- Lead incident response, disaster recovery, and system hardening initiatives.
- Partner with developers to guarantee reliability, performance, and security from day one.
- Measure and improve key DevOps metrics and continuously refine processes.
- Manage support tickets and stakeholder requests with urgency and clarity.
Required Skills
- 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering; 2+ years in technical leadership.
- Strong architectural expertise in designing scalable systems (cloud and on‑prem).
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, Microsoft Azure, Terraform, and IaC tools.
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, monitoring/logging, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Proven collaboration across IT, software, engineering, and security domains.
- Experience with incident response, disaster recovery, and system hardening.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making, and ability to operate in ambiguous situations.
- Ability to comply with US export controls.
Preferred Skills
- Terraform, MinIO, BlackDuck, J‑Frog Artifactory, PagerDuty, and secrets‑management tools.
- Track record building internal platforms or self‑service tools for developers.
- Experience introducing DevOps KPIs and delivering measurable improvement.
- Deep understanding of software lifecycle, testing strategies, and release management.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
