Job Description: **Job Title:** Senior Backend Engineer (Founding Engineer) **Role Summary:** Senior Backend Engineer to architect Milo’s AI-ready data layer, enabling seamless ingestion, modeling, and access of customer data from structured and unstructured sources. Focus on building scalable backend systems in a fast-paced startup environment. **Expectations:** - Minimum 5+ years software development experience. - 3+ years designing enterprise-grade backend systems. - Proven ability to build foundational infrastructure (CI/CD, cloud, databases). - Adaptability to handle diverse responsibilities (customer support, debugging, operations). **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement data ingestion pipelines for databases, SaaS tools, unstructured data (e.g., PDFs). - Build a centralized data cataloging/modeling system for AI integration. - Optimize backend architecture for reliability and scalability using Go (primary language) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure). - Collaborate with the founding team to shape product direction and troubleshoot operational challenges. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in type-safe languages (Go, Rust, Java, C). - Strong expertise in SQL and distributed storage systems. - Cloud platform expertise (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Experience with backend system design, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Encore.dev). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
