Job Description
**Job Title**: Data Protection Assistant **Role Summary**: Support the Head of Data Protection & Risk to ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations, administering processes, and maintaining data protection frameworks across the organization. **Expectations**: Provide administrative and operational support to uphold data privacy standards, manage data subject requests, and escalate compliance issues promptly. **Key Responsibilities**: - Maintain data breach registers, DSAR records, and unsubscribe/erasure request logs. - Redact third-party data in subject access requests using relevant software and exemptions. - Monitor and respond to data protection emails, escalating incidents to the Head of Data Protection. - Track deletion requests per GDPR timelines and manage ICO registrations. - Assist with data breach investigations, complaints, and compliance audits. - Streamline reporting processes and ensure alignment with legal requirements. - Promote continuous improvement in data protection procedures. **Required Skills**: - Proven organizational and administrative ability. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and redaction tools. - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities. - Effective communication for handling customer complaints. - Ability to manage priorities under time-sensitive deadlines. - Collaborative teamwork and adaptability to changing priorities. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Relevant qualification in GDPR/Data Protection preferred (not mandatory). - Training support for GDPR certification provided if not already held. - Numeracy, IT literacy (including enterprise software), and customer service expertise.
