**Job Title**
BusinessObjects Architect
**Role Summary**
Design, architect, and implement SAP BusinessObjects (BO) solutions for enterprise data‑warehousing. Lead migration projects, ensure integration with existing systems, optimize performance, and provide advanced guidance and support to cross‑functional teams.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑quality BO architecture and migration projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Maintain system performance and scalability, ensuring seamless integration with databases, ETL pipelines, and existing BI tools.
- Engage stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Act as a proactive change agent, continuously monitoring BI trends and recommending improvements.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Architecture & Design**
- Define SAP BO system architecture (servers, security, SSO, configuration).
- Design data mart structures, data flows, Univers, and report frameworks.
- Conduct technical audits and assess existing BO deployments.
2. **Implementation & Deployment**
- Install and configure SAP BO environments (client, server, plus extensions).
- Integrate BO with legacy databases, data warehouses, and other BI tools.
- Optimize BI architecture for performance and scalability.
3. **Migration Management**
- Audit current BO landscape, map dependencies to databases and ETL tools.
- Develop migration strategies (complete or phased), risk assessment, and documentation.
- Execute migrations, coordinate tests, validations, and user training.
- Provide level‑3 support during and post‑migration.
4. **Stakeholder Collaboration**
- Work closely with business units to capture requirements and evaluate feasibility.
- Plan and monitor BI project timelines and budgets.
- Deliver training and technical hand‑over sessions to end users.
5. **Continuous Improvement**
- Conduct technology surveillance on BI and SAP BO solutions.
- Propose architecture enhancements, performance tuning, and feature upgrades.
**Required Skills**
- Proven expertise in SAP BusinessObjects architecture, installation, SSO, and environment configuration.
- Strong knowledge of data warehouses, ETL processes, relational & dimensional data modeling.
- Experience in designing data marts, data flows, Univers, and report delivery.
- Migration planning and execution, including risk assessment and documentation.
- Performance tuning and optimization of BI platforms.
- Solid stakeholder communication, persuasion, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Problem‑solving, technical documentation, and user training abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Minimum Bac+5 (Master) in Decision Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or related discipline.
- Certifications such as:
- SAP Certified Application Associate – BusinessObjects BI Platform
- SAP Certified Development Associate – BusinessObjects BW/Enterprise Analytics
- Other relevant SAP BI/BO certifications strongly preferred.
**Experience**
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in a senior BO or enterprise BI architecture role, with a minimum of 5 years hands‑on SAP BO implementation and migration.
