Job Description
Job title: Impact Researcher Role Summary: Conduct rigorous analytical work to evaluate the influence of a climate-focused journalism initiative. Design, administer, and analyze surveys and interviews; develop monitoring tools; produce evidence-based reports that demonstrate impact to funders and stakeholders. Expectations: * Deliver actionable insights that inform editorial, program, and organizational strategy. * Maintain high research integrity, ensuring data quality and methodological soundness. * Communicate findings in clear, stakeholder‑appropriate formats. * Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners on impact measurement. Key Responsibilities: * Implement and refine impact measurement frameworks and tools across programs. * Collect, manage, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data on audience knowledge, reach, and engagement. * Apply monitoring techniques to assess program and media impact; ensure consistent data quality. * Translate research outcomes into practical insights for content development and decision‑making. * Lead advanced data analyses to shape editorial, programmatic, and organizational directions. * Produce internal and external impact reports, documenting learning and action points. * Coordinate with internal units and support engagement with research/evaluation partners. Required Skills: * Strong research methodology knowledge (qualitative & quantitative). * Expertise in developing and applying monitoring & evaluation frameworks with KPIs. * Advanced data analysis and statistical skills (e.g., SPSS, R, Excel). * Ability to interpret and present data to varied audiences in concise reports and presentations. * Self‑starter, capable of independent work and cross‑team collaboration. * Experience working within or partnering with international non‑profit organizations. * Familiarity with climate reporting and sustainability interventions. * Proficiency with digital collaboration tools (Slack, Google Workspace). * Multilingual capability is an advantage. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree minimum (Master’s preferred) in Data Science, Statistics, Social Sciences, Sustainability, Communication, or related field. * Professional certifications in research methodologies, monitoring & evaluation, or data analysis are desirable but not mandatory.
