Job Description
**Job Title:** Shipping and Logistics Manager **Role Summary:** Responsible for overseeing all import and inbound logistics operations, ensuring timely and compliant movement of raw materials, managing customs documentation, controlling costs, and maintaining accurate inventory and quality records for a food/FMCG supplier. **Expectations:** - Ensure shipments meet contract schedules and regulatory requirements. - Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partners. - Control import‑related expenses and provide accurate reporting to finance. - Uphold quality standards and conduct physical stock checks. - Provide backup support for the Shipping Manager at the Fulbourn site as needed. **Key Responsibilities:** - Produce and monitor import schedules; track shipments against contracts. - Liaise with port authorities, shipping lines, inland hauliers, and customs agencies. - Manage import documentation, duties, customs clearances, licences, and TRQs; coordinate audits. - Administer customs warehouses and other storage facilities; oversee local inventory. - Communicate with Ebro Group companies, supply chain, technical teams, and site personnel. - Control and report import and storage costs to the accounts team and management. - Perform system administration: stock receipts, purchase orders, invoicing. - Conduct quality control checks, stock movements verification, and periodic stocktakes. - Interface with customers regarding food waste product shipments. - Provide limited holiday cover for the Shipping Manager at the Fulbourn location. **Required Skills:** - Proven import logistics experience, preferably in food or FMCG. - Strong knowledge of HMRC customs procedures, shipping line operations, and logistics providers. - Ability to coordinate across multiple agencies and resolve issues quickly. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (JDE preferred). - Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem‑solving abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Degree‑level education or equivalent in logistics, supply chain, international trade, or related field. - Formal training or certification in import/export compliance, customs procedures, or logistics management preferred.
