Job title: AWS SRE DevOps Operations
Role Summary: Senior Software Engineer responsible for provisioning, monitoring, and operating AWS cloud services, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for public‑sector applications. Works with a global, remote team to design and maintain automated infrastructure, observability pipelines, and incident response processes.
Expectations:
- Remote work (East Coast time zone acceptable)
- Over 3 years of senior-level experience in SRE/DevOps
- Recent work on public‑sector cloud projects
- Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation, including weekends or after‑hours
- Ability to collaborate in a diverse, distributed environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision, monitor, and manage AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, Route 53, CloudWatch, IAM, ACM, KMS)
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot Concourse pipelines, Jenkins/Chef automation, Terraform scripts, and Kubernetes clusters
- Build and maintain observability stack using Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud‑native monitoring tools
- Develop automated testing, deployment, scalability, and security solutions for SaaS multitenant applications
- Perform incident root‑cause analysis, implement continuous improvements, and update monitoring policies
- Collaborate with product development to enhance service reliability and operational best practices
- Manage database administration tasks, including upgrades, hot‑fixes, and performance tuning
- Enforce security fundamentals across cloud environments
Required Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Git, Concourse, Jenkins, Chef, Terraform
- Expertise in Linux (SUSE, Ubuntu) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Strong knowledge of Kafka, Zookeeper, big‑data technologies
- Experience with Cloud Foundry and cloud‑monitoring tools
- Proficiency with AWS core services and IAM security
- Familiarity with networking, IP troubleshooting, and web services protocols
- Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT discipline (preferred)
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus
