Job Title: Summer Internship, Underwriting Associate Role Summary: A seasonal position for a fourth‑year university student to support specialty insurance underwriting. The intern will process new business submissions, manage policy documentation, and assist with operational and HR tasks while gaining exposure to senior leadership and the broader insurance industry. Expectations: Provide accurate and timely underwriting support, demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills, collaborate effectively with team members, and maintain high standards of professionalism and detail. Key Responsibilities: - Receive and process new insurance submissions, log applications, prepare binders and endorsements. - Bind risk, post invoices, and handle technical data entry. - Order and follow up on inspections; manage endorsement requests and referrals for underwriters. - Support ad‑hoc projects for Operations and HR teams. - Engage in presentations and communication projects (e.g., Harvard Business Review initiative). - Collaborate with specialty insurance team and senior leadership. Required Skills: - Strong organizational and multi‑tasking abilities. - Analytical thinking for complex queries and timely decision‑making. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Attention to detail and a professional work ethic.
