Job Description
**Software Engineer** **Role Summary** Lead software development for underwater ROV systems, integrating hardware and software solutions to drive innovation in robotics, sensor integration, and data processing. Focus on MVP advancement, system design, and fostering a culture of technical creativity in a startup environment. **Expectations** - Design, implement, and maintain software for ROVs and associated systems, including control, vision, and data pipelines. - Collaborate with hardware teams on sensor and embedded system integration. - Rapidly prototype and iterate on features to accelerate product development. - Apply expertise in cutting-edge technologies to solve complex underwater engineering challenges. - Prioritize clean, maintainable code and enforce QA/testing standards. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop cross-platform GUI applications using Electron.js and TypeScript. - Design and implement robust software architectures, including microservices and API integration. - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real-time data processing and embedded systems. - Document software designs and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in TypeScript, C++, Python. - Experience with Electron.js for GUI development. - Familiarity with robotics software stacks (e.g., ROS), sensor integration, or embedded systems (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson). - Knowledge of computer vision (OpenCV), SLAM, photogrammetry, or 3D mapping. - Practical experience with Docker, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and API/microservices design. **Required Education & Certifications** - Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Preferred: Ability to obtain UK security clearance for defense projects.
