Job Description
Job Title: IT Infrastructure Project Manager Role Summary: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure projects ($100k–$1M scopes) covering WAN/circuit connectivity, data center activities, building renovations, security architecture, and network upgrades. Own overall project success, managing budgets up to $3M, teams of 15+ personnel, and external vendor contracts. Apply waterfall/predictive methodologies to develop schedules, budgets, risk plans, and governance structures, reporting progress to senior leadership. Expectations: - Deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to defined quality standards. - Act as accountable owner, not just facilitator. - Conduct vendor RFPs, negotiate SOWs, and enforce performance metrics. - Maintain clear, executive‑level communication across all stakeholder levels. Key Responsibilities: - Manage project lifecycle from inception through closure for multiple concurrent infrastructure initiatives. - Develop, update, and track project schedules and budget estimates; report variance to sponsors. - Perform risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning. - Create and maintain project governance plans, including steering committee and stakeholder engagement. - Select, negotiate, and monitor vendor contracts, ensuring contractual obligations and KPIs are met. - Lead cross‑functional project teams, coordinate resources, and resolve issues. - Produce status reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership and sponsors. - Ensure compliance with regulated industry standards and internal controls. Required Skills: - Minimum 6 + years of project management in large corporate or enterprise settings. - Proven experience managing budgets ≥$3 M and teams ≥15 people. - Proficient with waterfall/predictive methodologies. - Strong written and verbal communication at all organizational levels. - Expertise in Microsoft Project (Desktop and Online); SAP experience a plus. - Vendor management: RFP creation, SOW negotiation, performance monitoring. - Risk management, schedule and budget development, and governance oversight. Required Education & Certifications: - High‑school diploma or equivalent (or higher). - Mandatory prior experience in a regulated industry. - Utility sector experience is highly desirable.
