Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineer Role Summary: Develop and maintain internal software tools and data pipelines that support solar development and EPC workflows. Automate GIS processes, integrate geospatial data across cloud platforms, and create actionable insights for cross‑functional teams. Expactations: - Deliver fully functional, production‑ready tools within agreed sprint cycles. - Collaborate directly with Development, EPC, and Operations to meet changing requirements. - Present findings and updates to senior leadership and technical leads. - Drive incremental improvements to system architecture and data quality. Key Responsibilities: - Build and refactor internal tools using Python and SQL to support solar site analysis and EPC operations. - Automate GIS workflows, converting raw geospatial inputs into actionable datasets. - Integrate and manage data across Snowflake, AWS, GCP, and internal systems. - Optimize backend processes and improve overall system architecture. - Support stakeholders with mapping, siting, and spatial analysis. - Work with GIS Analyst to enhance GIS capabilities and data availability. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the company’s development culture. Required Skills: - 1–3 years of professional experience in software, data, or geospatial engineering. - Strong proficiency in Python and SQL. - Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in a lean, startup‑like environment. - Familiarity with GIS tools (Esri, QGIS) and geospatial libraries. - Experience with Snowflake, AWS, or GCP data platforms. - Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and present technical concepts to senior leadership. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. - US citizenship (required).
