Job Description
Job Title: Data Scientist Role Summary: Own end‑to‑end data analysis and solution delivery for a long‑term consumer information strategy, applying advanced analytics to uncover insights and design data‑driven products. Expectations: - Demonstrate full ownership of projects from analysis to deployment. - Collaborate with analytics, tech, and product SMEs to produce actionable outcomes. - Maintain rigorous data quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Deeply understand and document data sources, then model and analyze them to solve business problems. - Translate analytical findings into coded solutions using SQL and Python (Pandas). - Partner with technical teams to implement, test, and refine solutions. - Deliver clear, logical presentations of analyses to stakeholders. - Uphold data governance, accuracy, and compliance with UK credit regulations (FCA guidelines). Required Skills: - Proven experience in the UK consumer credit industry in an analytical role. - Advanced SQL and Python (Pandas) proficiency. - In‑depth knowledge of credit industry data sources and credit bureau data handling. - Familiarity with UK regulatory frameworks governing credit data. - Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present complex analyses. Desirable Skills: - Experience with AWS or similar cloud services for data storage and analytics. - Knowledge of data warehouse architectures and data governance best practices. - Practical use of Git, Jira, and Unix/Linux environments. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, SQL certification) are a plus.
