Job Description
Job Title: Senior Software Developer/AS400 Role Summary: Lead development of mission‑critical applications for an AS400 ecosystem, writing clean, maintainable code in Synergy DBL, and utilizing Visual Studio and Workbench on Open VMS/Linux environments. Collaborate across teams, applying best practices, agile and waterfall methodologies, to deliver robust customer‑centric solutions. Expectations: - 5+ years of application development experience. - Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills. - Team player eager to mentor and share knowledge. - Ability to communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders. - Bilingual French/English preferred. Key Responsibilities: - Design, code, test, and deploy applications using Synergy DBL, Visual Studio, and Workbench. - Maintain, update, and troubleshoot existing codebases; fix bugs and enhance functionality. - Implement and uphold development best practices and code quality standards. - Conduct and participate in code reviews; enforce coding standards. - Develop unit and integration testing strategies; support testing efforts. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an agile setting, while coordinating waterfall releases. - Work with business leaders to translate complex requirements into technical solutions. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Synergy DBL (or equivalent programming language). - Experience with Visual Studio, Workbench, and Linux shell scripting. - Familiarity with ServiceNow for issue tracking and workflow. - Knowledge of design thinking and customer‑centric design principles. Required Education & Certifications: - Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field.
