Job Description
Job title: Sales Engineer Role Summary: Senior technical sales professional who leads customer‑facing engagements for a web‑based research workflow platform. Provides business analysis, customized product demonstrations, solution design, and integration of client requirements into proposals. Acts as the primary liaison between prospects, internal teams, and the account executive to ensure a seamless transition from sales to onboarding. Expactations: • Drive the full sales cycle, from initial discovery to closing and post‑sale hand‑off. • Present technical solutions that align with client business challenges and regulatory needs. • Maintain high client satisfaction, manage expectations, and establish trust as a solution advisor. • Collaborate with sales, customer success and engineering to meet mutually agreed action plans. • Meet or exceed quarterly sales targets and contribution metrics. Key Responsibilities: • Partner with Account Executives to identify and qualify opportunities. • Conduct discovery calls, capture requirements, and translate into actionable solution designs. • Deliver tailored, data‑rich product demos that illustrate value propositions. • Address technical and commercial objections, guiding prospects toward purchase decisions. • Draft and review sales proposals ensuring all technical and business specifications are met. • Train sales teams on product features, integrations, and best practices. • Capture client feedback, relay it to internal product and support teams. • Support the Mutual Action Plan for enterprise engagements. • Facilitate smooth transition from sales to Customer Success for post‑sale implementation. Required Skills: • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. • Strong technical acumen in software, data, and workflow automation. • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and manage expectations. • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with high quality. • Advanced proficiency in Windows desktop applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook). • Demonstrated problem‑solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment. • Willingness to travel internationally up to 15 %. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Library Sciences, Information Science, Healthcare Research, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). • Minimum 2 years of experience as a sales engineer, consultant, engineer, or in library science applied to healthcare research solutions. • Commitment to continual learning and professional development.
