Job title: Intern, Venture Capital
Role Summary:
Builder‑focused internship within a venture capital investing team. Primarily responsible for designing, building, and shipping internal tools and automations that enhance investment workflows and portfolio management, with additional exposure to fund evaluation and diligence.
Expectations:
- Allocate ~75% of time to growth operations: tooling, automation, and system improvement.
- Allocate ~25% to investment support: fund screening, diligence, and relationship monitoring.
- Demonstrate ownership by taking concepts to prototype, iterating based on feedback, and delivering measurable improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Upgrade operating system: CRM, pipeline, portfolio monitoring, reporting, knowledge management.
- Design and implement automations across Direct Messaging, Email, Calendar, Docs, CRM.
- Build internal tools with strong UI/UX to reduce friction for the investment team.
- Clean, dedupe, and enrich entities (GPs, funds, LPs); ensure data consistency across systems.
- Evaluate new products (CRM options, portfolio tools, AI copilots/agents), run pilots, measure adoption, and recommend scale.
- Document workflows and create playbooks for repeatable improvements.
- Support fund screening and diligence: compile fund summaries, competitive landscape, track record, technical reviews.
- Assist with IC materials (light memos/slides) and monitor existing relationships (fundraising updates, news, portfolio developments).
Required Skills:
- Proven builder track record (hackathon projects, scripts, apps, automations).
- Strong analytical judgment: diagnose complex, unstructured problems and translate into scalable solutions.
- Comfort with ambiguity and strong ownership; ability to prototype, iterate, and deliver without fully defined requirements.
- Technical proficiency: APIs, webhooks, automation, basic ETL concepts.
- Experience with LLM tooling (prompting, evaluation, agents) is a plus.
- Prior co‑op/internship experience in venture, startups, growth ops, product, engineering, design, or related fields.
- Familiarity with VC ecosystem and network is advantageous.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Undergraduate student with at least 2 years of study in Computer Science, Design, Data/Analytics, or a STEM discipline.
- No specific certifications required.
