Job Title: Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Role Summary: Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across multi‑region environments. Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and technologies, ensuring cost efficiency, high performance, and alignment with business objectives.
Expectations: Deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions that meet security, compliance, and operational excellence standards. Act as a strategic partner with developers, product teams, and global stakeholders, influencing roadmaps and fostering an infrastructure‑as‑code culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute cloud infrastructure strategy for the U.S. region, ensuring security, performance, and cost optimization.
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable environments using AWS (Azure or other platforms valued).
- Automate provisioning with IaC tools (Terraform) and manage Windows/Linux servers at scale.
- Implement Kubernetes, database services (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB), API gateways (Kong), and networking solutions (Istio, VPCs).
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus) and source control (GitHub).
- Deploy monitoring, logging, and observability solutions (Datadog, Elastic, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Enforce security/compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC 2) using tools such as Wiz, CrowdStrike, SIEM, and penetration testing.
- Define and track KPIs for operational excellence, security, and compliance.
- Build relationships with cloud and DevOps teams in Australia and the UK.
- Communicate complex infrastructure concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Produce actionable reports for leadership and influence product roadmaps.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years cloud infrastructure experience with strong networking and systems background.
- Deep expertise in AWS; experience with Azure or equivalent valued.
- IaC proficiency with Terraform; large‑scale Windows/Linux server management.
- Hands‑on Kubernetes, database, API gateway, and networking/routing technologies.
- CI/CD expertise (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus) and GitHub source control.
- Monitoring/logging/observability knowledge (Datadog, Elastic, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Security/compliance understanding (ISO, SOC 2) and tools (Wiz, CrowdStrike, SIEM, P‑T testing).
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Strategic thinking, roadmap influence, and infrastructure‑as‑code mindset.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) strongly preferred.
