Job Description
Job Title: Data Business Analyst Role Summary: Data Business Analyst responsible for driving financial performance improvements across business units by translating operational challenges into analytical solutions. Acts as a liaison among operations, finance, and business intelligence teams to identify cost‑reduction opportunities, develop performance KPIs, and support the adoption of data‑driven decision‑making tools. Expectations: - Deliver actionable insights that lead to measurable financial improvement (cost, margin, efficiency). - Demonstrate strong analytical problem‑solving skills and business acumen across multiple functional areas. - Communicate complex data findings clearly to diverse stakeholders and facilitate the uptake of BI tools. - Maintain high standards of data quality, governance, and consistency in KPI development. Key Responsibilities: 1. Identify and prioritize performance improvement levers across business processes. - Analyse cost structures, margins, and operational efficiency. - Locate non‑performance zones and propose optimization opportunities. 2. Define BI requirements and scope before project initiation. - Translate business goals into analytical needs. - Specify KPI definitions, business rules, and analysis axes. 3. Lead BI project governance. - Co‑design decision‑making solutions with BI leads. - Validate data and indicator relevance to business objectives. - Conduct functional testing and support user adoption. 4. Promote a data‑driven culture. - Educate stakeholders on interpreting and owning performance metrics. - Disseminate best practices for performance monitoring. Required Skills: - Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. - Proficiency in Excel and strong aptitude for reporting tools, especially Power BI. - Excellent verbal and written communication; capable of collaborating with cross‑functional teams. - Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights. - Experience leading or coordinating BI projects from requirement to rollout. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum of a Master’s degree (equivalent to BAC+5) in Management Control, Corporate Finance, or a related discipline. - At least 5 years of experience in a similar data/business‑analysis role. ---
