Job Description
**Job Title:** Specifications Technologist **Role Summary:** Short‑term (6 months) contract to support the Technical team. Primary responsibility is to draft, review, and maintain product specifications that align with customer needs, production feasibility, and regulatory compliance. Acts as the interface between design, sourcing, manufacturing, and external stakeholders to keep documentation audit‑ready. **Expectations:** - Deliver precise and complete specifications within designated deadlines. - Maintain traceability and compliance across the product life cycle. - Communicate proactively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams on specification matters. - Assist in audit preparation and support traceability requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Write and update customer specifications using the customer portal. - Compose internal factory specifications and raw‑material ingredient specifications in the system. - Review artwork in the artwork system to confirm legal and customer compliance. - Create and upload finished product, work‑in‑progress, ingredient, and raw‑material codes to Specification and MRP systems. - Upload relevant data to government systems for required certificates and statements. - Respond to internal/external specification queries and customer alerts. - File and maintain specification documents. - Support paper‑trail and traceability for audits. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (manufacturing, quality, supply chain, suppliers). **Required Skills:** - Strong written and verbal communication; negotiation with professional peers. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects across multi‑site and multi‑functional environments. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Understanding of food manufacturing regulatory environment (basic grasp of Brexit coding requirements). - Detail‑oriented, organized, able to work independently and in a team. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field. - Prior experience in a technical role within food manufacturing preferred. - No specific certifications required, but familiarity with regulatory documentation and compliance standards is essential.
